The volume of a sphere can be calculated using the following formula

**V = (4÷3) x Π x r ^{3}**

Where

V = Volume (m^{3})

Π = Pi (3.142 approx)

r = Radius (m)

## Example

You’ve been asked to calculate the volume of a spherical water tank. The sphere is 4m in diameter (2m radius).

Calculate the volume using the folrmula

**V = (4÷3) x Π x r ^{3}**

**V = (1.333) x 3.142 x 2**

^{3}**V = 1.333 x 3.142 x 8**

**V = 4.188 x 8**

**V = 33.5m**
