You can calculate the volume of a cylinder using the following formula

**V = ∏ x r ^{2} x H**

Where:

V = Volume

Π = Pi (3.142 approx)

r = radius

H = Height

## Example

You’ve been asked the calculate the volume of a length of pipe. The pipe is **5m in height** and has a **radius of 2m**. Calculate the volume using the following formula:

**V = ∏ x r ^{2} x H
V = 3.142 x 2^{2} x 5
V = 3.142 x 4 x 5
V = 12.568 x 5
V = 62.8m3**
