Volume of a cone, how to calculate

The volume of a cone can be calculated using the following formula

Volume = (1÷3) x Π x r2 x h

Where:

Π = pI (3.14)

r = radius

h = height

Example

You’ve been asked to calculate the volume of a cone when the radius is 5m and the height is 20m.

V = (1÷3) x Π x r2 x h

V = (1÷3) x Π x 52 x 20

V = (0.3333) x 3.14 x 52 x 20

V = (0.3333) x 3.14 x 25 x 20

V = 1.047 x 25 x 20

V = 26.175 x 20

V = 523.5m3
